Hershey's Brownies

1 cup (2 sticks) butter
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 eggs
3/4 cup Hershey's Cocoa or Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Grease 13x9x2-inch baking pan.

3. Place butter in large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave 2 - 2 1/2 minutes or until melted.

4. Stir in sugar and vanilla.

5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well with spoon after each addition.

6. Add cocoa; beat until well blended.

7. Add flour, baking powder and salt; beat well. Stir in nuts, if desired.

8. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 30 - 35 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.

9. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Frost if desired. Cut into bars.

Yield: 36 brownies.

Creamy Brownie Frosting Adapted from Hershey's
6 tablespoons butter, softened
6 tablespoons Hershey's Cocoa
2 tablespoon light corn syrup or honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar
2 - 4 tablespoons milk

1. Beat butter, cocoa, corn syrup and vanilla in small bowl until blended.

2. Add powdered sugar and milk; beat to spreading consistency.

Yield: @ 2 cups frosting.

Cook's notes:
*Line pan with parchment.
*Chill after frosting, but before cutting
*Serve with a glass of cold milk or hot coffee; deeeeelicious!
