Coffee Ice Cream

Skill required: Ice cream lover
1/2 cup scalded milk
1/2 cup ground coffee
1 1/4 cup sugar
4 egg yolks
1 quart whipped cream
Vanilla extract
1//4 teaspoon salt1. Pour hot milk over the coffee.
2. Add 1 cup sugar.
3. Mix the slightly beaten eggs with salt and the rest of sugar.
4. Combine the 2 mixtures and cook in pot over pot filled with hot water (or double boiler)until mixture is thickened.
5. Keep hot 1/2 hour and then strain and cool.
6. Add whipped cream.
7. Add vanilla extract to taste.
8. Freeze
Yield: 4 servings
