Skill required: Must want to spoil your furry friends
1/2 cup plain flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup cornmeal
3/4 cup dry milk
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1 teaspoon sugar
1/3 cup shortening or butter
1 egg slightly beaten
1 teaspoon bouillon granules
1/2 cup hot water
1. Combine both flours, cornmeal, milk, oats and sugar.
2. Cut in shortening.
3. Add egg, bouillon and hot water.
4. Knead 5 minutes.
5. Roll 1/2-inch thick and cut out into favorite shapes.
6. Place on plate or platter (depending on the size of your microwave oven.)
7. Microwave at 50% power for 5 to 10 minutes, rotating plate.
Yield: 1 1/2 dozen medium size dog biscuits. These don’t last long, so make a bunch.
